The legendary court artist Basawan designed the intricate outline, while the detailed coloration was executed by Tara the Elder. The painting\'s composition expertly balances chaos with imperial order. In the upper-left, Emperor Akbar sits confidently on his rearing horse, surrounded by his standard-bearers and royal retinue, maintaining calm authority. Below them, the frame explodes into a visceral, crowded scene of combat. The artists portrayed the gruesome realities of the clash in vivid detail, showing tangled bodies, swinging swords, shields, and severed limbs. Utilizing a high horizon line and vibrant opaque watercolors enriched with gold leaf, this miniature stands as a pinnacle of early Mughal storytelling, realism, and compositional energy.
