Ghosh was a prominent artist of the Bengal school of Art. Goddess Durga and Lord Shiva are depicted with serene expressions and in a realistic form. This artwork is made using the wash technique which demands the use of thin, transparent layers of colours. The subtle background allows the focus to remain on the deities.
