The composition is structured around two distinct opposing groups meeting on a vast, dusty plain. Dominating the center-left is a majestic black imperial elephant, lavishly adorned with traditional gold jewellry, ankle bells, and a decorative red saddle cloth. Atop the elephant rests an ornate golden howdah carrying a princess and her female attendant. The princess leans forward gracefully to place a celebratory crown onto a young royal figure. This recipient is a young prince riding a light-blue or gray stallion, positioned dynamically between the elephant and a court official holding a presentation bowl. On the right side stands a highly organized column of eight elite cavalrymen mounted on horses of varying colours, including bay, chestnut, and grey. These riders are dressed in formal, multi-coloured pyjamas and wrapped turbans while carrying traditional armaments such as circular shields, bows, and quivers. On the far left, two lower-ranking attendants dressed in simpler white attire stand by, one carrying a fan to signify the event's high status. The background frames the scene with a long defensive brick wall typical of Mughal fortresses. Atop the wall rises a grand structure topped with elegant white marble domes and pavilions (chhatris), hinting at an imperial palace backdrop.
