This piece titled ' Duryodhan Receives Pandavas and Krishna' is a moment of art history frozen in a single frame .Initiated by Emperor Akbar, Tasveer khana witnessed the growth and introduction of Hindu mythologies into the Mughal miniature school of painting, The book from which the above illustration has been taken is the Razmnama , or the Book of War. It can also be referred to as the equivalent of the Mahabharata in the context of the Mughal culture. The painting has its own distinct style, quite distinguishable from other illustrations from the same epic . The colour tone of the painting is generally light in hue.
