The work was included in the exhibition Legato Marchi alle Gallerie Fiorentine (1985) and later in Ottocento e Novecento. Acquisizioni 1974–1989 (1989) |
The artwork makes you feel like standing and observing like an intruder on something tender and private. Spadini captures his wife and daughter mid-whisper, their heads bowed together in that unmistakable posture of shared secrets. What strikes me most is the soft, golden light almost breathing across the fabric of their plain dresses. The brushwork feels loose and alive, never fussy. There's no grand narrative here, just a quiet personal moment elevated into something so beautiful.
