The Indian miniature painting titled "Baz Bahadur and Rupmati Falconry" is a renowned masterpiece painted by Mir Kalan Khan, an extremely talented artist of the 18th century. The masterpiece was created in a highly refined style of Mughal painting from the province. The painting presents an elaborate depiction of the love affair between the sultan of Malwa Baz Bahadur and his queen Rani Rupmati. Unlike most paintings depicting military feats, this particular masterpiece is focused on a more intimate aspect of the life of the royal couple engaged in a romantic falconry adventure in nature. The royal couple is shown riding on horses with attendants, dogs, and falcons in a rich landscape consisting of rolling hills, twisting streams, swans, and other wildlife creatures.
