The painting of Bandi Balaiah Naidu is an elegant portrait work created by C. Raja Raja Varma in 1904 AD. This is an oil painting created on canvas of a Diwan in the court of Maharaja Pusapathi Ananda Gajapathi Raju of Vizianagaram. The Diwan Bandi Balaiah Naidu was a huge supporter of the Varma brothers and used to praise their work a lot. This portrait was done by Raja Raja when they were guests to Naidu on their way to Kurupam. This painting depicts a seated portrait of Naidu, whose both arms rest on the black chair armrest; he is seated in complete white attire, wearing a sherwani and turban in white and an off-white shawl, holding a stick in his right hand. His strong personality is reflected by bold facial features that are a black, curvy mustache; thick eyebrows; a sharp nose; and a radiant smile that shows pure elegance with bright eyes, reflecting royalty and power. The image background is greenish at the top and gets brownish and rusty towards the bottom, which glorifies the portrait, setting it apart from the background. The painting is made with such smooth and delicate brush strokes that it describes each and every facial feature with intricate details. The strong posture portrayed by Raja Raja Varma defines a strong character of the diwan and his powerful position in the court.
