Juan Correa (1646–1716) was one of the most important painters of late 17th century and early 18th century colonial Mexico. Alongside his contemporary master painter Cristobal de Villalpando, he is regarded as a major representative of the Novohispanic Baroque. Though his career was majorly centered around Mexico City, his paintings circulated widely throughout New Spain and were also sent to Europe. His known period of greatest activity extends approximately from 1671 CE to 1716 CE.
