This miniature painting is an exceptional example of Mughal miniature paintings. Painted by Muhammad Sharif, a prominent Persian origin artist active during Akbar and Jahangir's reign. This piece was painted during Akbar's reign. Mughal emperor Akbar was a prominent patron of art - especially miniature paintings. This painting is prominently a textual piece with visual elements. The text is written in the centre with beautiful Arabic calligraphy. The border of the textual frame is decorated with bird paintings. The overall background of the piece is filled with fine detailed work and human figures, most likely the noblemen and elite of Akbar's court.
