The painting 'Two Camels Fighting' is a remarkable piece of art by Abd al-Samad, as it highlights extraordinary precision in miniature painting. This painting depicts two camels entangled with their necks and fighting each other; one is of dark brown color, while the other one has light brown skin texture and color. The camels are being controlled and tamed by their owners via rope and a stick. They are also ornated with beautiful camel trappings in bright and warm colors. The artist had very intricately highlighted the minute details of the painting, like individual strands of camel hair, their eyelashes, folds of skin, wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, and nose, and their decorated harnesses. He also laid detailed emphasis on the background by adding soft shades to the trees, leaves, stony ground, cliffs, and astonishing blue sky. The color technique used in it is soft brush strokes with both natural and decorative color pigments like warm browns and ochres for the camels, sage green for the leaves, light blues for the sky, delicate earthy colors for the characters, thin black outlines for major detailing of figures, and use of golden texture and strokes for ornamentation and luxury refinements. The pigments used were prepared from mines, pigments, metal, and natural dyes. These pigments were blended with binders, and very thin and transparent layers were applied over the base layers to create such a beautiful piece of art.
