It constructs a multi-layered allegory, which unifies nature, time and the political power. Creating an image of a human head from natural elements, the painter draws attention to the idea of a ruler who rules his empire of nature and time. However, the clever combination of these elements is so convincing that the image of the head provokes ambiguous thoughts about whether it is a whole human head or separate plant parts. As a result, the painter creates a clever and profound allegory in which he invites the viewers to reflect on the possibility of unifying various and seemingly chaotic elements into a harmonious whole without losing their individuality.
