Badshah Akbar Shah II is in an important person in the painting, the imperial court of the Badshah is represented here. This painting was made by artist named Ghulam Murtaza Khan around 1810 AD. It is a special picture because it shows the Mughal Empire, when it held a lot of ceremony and tradition even when it was not as powerful as it used to be. The painting is made with paint and gold on paper and it looks really beautiful with its bright colors, intricate patterns and fancy throne. The Emperor Akbar Shah II, is sitting on the throne. He is surrounded by sons the future princes, and the courtiers who are standing in a very orderly way. What is really interesting is that the emperors sons are in the painting including the emperor Bahadur Shah II who looks very calm and serious. This painting is not just beautiful it is also very important for history. When it was made the Mughal Empire was not as strong as it used to be. The British were in control of Delhi. The painting still shows the emperor and his court in a very powerful and majestic style. The artist used a lot of symbols and rituals to show the emperors authority than just showing him as a powerful ruler. The painting appears to be like a play, where the emperor and his courtiers, are the actors and the throne room is the stage. The Emperor Akbar Shah II and his court are shown as sophisticated and cultured and this is what shows their power, not just their control, over land. The Badshah is still the center of attention and the painting shows how important he is, even if the Mughal Badshah is not as strong as he used to be.
