The Betrayal of Christ

Support Type: Metal Surface
Paint Type: Oil Paint
Current Location: Galleria Borghese, Rome

This artwork makes me feel a bit uneasy with so much going on. People with swords, torches, and shouting into the scene. But then I notice Jesus in the middle who looks completely calm while it's all happening around him, and that really hits me. It's kind of heartbreaking to see someone stay so composed while being betrayed by someone close to him. It also reminds me of times I've felt let down by people I trusted — that quiet, sinking feeling. I didn't expect an old painting to hit me emotionally like this, but it genuinely did.
