Salvator Mundi with Four Apostles painted by Vittore Carpaccio was created circa 1480-1490 using oil on panel. Christ, enthroned as Saviour of the world, gives benediction with a raised right hand while holding a crystal orb representing cosmic authority. Flanking him are four apostles witnessing his divine power, symbolising the Church's foundation. Carpaccio's venetian style features luminous atmospheres, precise architectural details and rich colours making the sacred scene dramatically clear.
