The painting titled "Lover in a landscape" also catalogued as "Lovers by spring" by Muhammad Haravi dates back to 1570 ,an era of tinted drawings essentially ink drawings heightened with washes of colour. Muhammadi excelled in harmonizing persian painting with persian poetry and this painting carries the same poetic quality .It depicts an intimate moment between two lovers set within the lush garden.A man and a woman are seen standing close to each other in a quiet and tender manner. The man is seen dressed in safavid attire with a turban that is in zig-zag pattern.Muhammadi has painted the woman showing grace with elongated features along with almond- shaped eyes and composed features which was his characteristics. They are not posed against a backdrop but embraced by the natural landscape around them.A water stream present in all of his paintings flows at the very bottom, rocks with short leaves and flowers spring from beneath and the cloud drifts overhead. But the figures remain still showing that the world around them has fallen in stillness. This is what had distinguished Muhammadi from the contemporaries and successors , the painting feels alive as if made in the presence of what it describes, this vision of love is natural and organic ,inseprarable from the rhythm of the nature.
