Krishna kills the Demoness Putana

Artist:Laharu
Support Type: Paper
Paint Type: Watercolor
Current Location: Unknown Currently

This painting shows how divine power wins against deception and evil. The difference, between the baby Krishna and the big Putana makes the story really stand out. I really like the way the buildings are divided the mountains and the bright colors because they turn a powerful myth into a clear picture story. The way the painting is put together also shows Laharus style from Chamba especially how he uses separate sections and simple backdrops. To me the painting sends a message that thingsre n't always what they seem and that divine power can beat even the biggest dangers.
