This piece titled ' Gentleman With A Gold Wine Cup ' is generally attributed to Aqa Riza . He was a painter during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir . The name is also referred to as Aqa Reza Heravi. This diversion from one name to the other is a confusion primarily resulting from many artists with the same name already existing. However, the painting is highly monochromatic this time. The light yellow ochreish background of the painting is not an accustomed feature of the Mughal style of painting . The only difference can be seen in the case of the gold wine cup . The pop of colours in the painting end up breaking the continuous monotone . Fir the seventeenth century , this particular style of painting is a new experiment . Shifting away from the implementation of bold colours and touch of gold in the paintings , the painting is quite simple from the very outset . The feather on the man's turban make him appear like a man with a high status , if not a royal at all .The dagger tucked at his side is a realistic depiction of how people dressed up during those days. The gold cup of wine is a representation of the culture of drinking .
