Christ in the Desert

Support Type: Canvas
Paint Type: Oil Paint
Current Location: The State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, Russia.

This shows the tiredness and exhaustion of a man who is still relying on an unexplainable strength. His pale hands and face shows how tired he is probably as a result of lack of food, his clothes looks spent and him sitting down with head down is a sign of his exhaustion and thoughts of hope. Desert is known for low sustainable resources so definitely something beyond human comprehension could have led the man to the desert and faith and hope is sustaining him in the midst of lack and want
