Chhath Pooja Celebration

Sevak Ram’s Chhath Puja a rare and probably this iamge is a part of a full size one but the internet shows just this part. Even the location is unknown. This is a lively portrayal of a riverside gathering, filled with the small details that make the scene feel almost lived-in. The composition stretches across the water, with devotees, vendors, animals and temporary stalls occupying different levels of the landscape. The foreground immediately catches the eye. A large elephant stands beneath the tree on the left, while a horse-drawn carriage carrying several women occupies the centre.
