Arjuna Beheading Karna with the Anjalika Weapon" is an outstanding example of the paintings created for the Razmnama, a Persian version of the famous Indian epic Mahabharata, that was ordered by Emperor Akbar. This illustration was painted by Chaturbhuj, a Hindu painter, who worked for Akbar's imperial karkhana and collaborated with artists representing different cultures and religions in order to produce illustrated manuscripts. The painting shows an important episode in the Kurukshetra War when Arjuna, under the guidance of Krishna, kills Karna using the Anjalika weapon as Karna's chariot gets stuck into the ground.
