The Mughal painting A Princess seated in an Interior, possibly Desavarati Ragini, is attributed to Mihr Chand, an esteemed artist of the Awadhi court. This artwork depicts a beautifully adorned woman arching her back, surrounded by female attendants, reflecting the luxurious lifestyle of the Awadh region. Mihr Chand, trained by his father Ganga Ram, was a prominent master of the Allahabad school. Throughout his career, he served Mughal Prince Ali Gauhar and Nawab Shuja ud Daulah in Faizabad. He also served as the head of the personal atelier for Antoine Polier, an East India Company officer.
