Because the curator did not mention anything about the year of creation and the creator of this painting, after checking about it on the source provided I realised that it was painted by Kalyan Das and this painting dates back to the 1720-1740s period and comes from the Mughal School of painting. Upon viewing this artwork the first time it describes a simple observation of the artist as he drwas a woman seated on a terrace along with her belongings such as 'paan dan' or spitoon, fruits and a jar like object presumably something to drink. However at a closer look one can vaguely identify the figure by her outfit and guess her posiiton in the Mughal court. For instance, it was not allowed for royal women of the Mughal family to be captured into paintings naked, or in transparent garment. Hence, this lady seated might have been a lover of a nobleman or the Emperor himself. Her look hints that she holds a prominent place in the palace.
