Belonging to the category of obscure Baroque painters, much of Antonio's personal life and art practice is unclear. Recent scholarship is familiar with the region he was active in and some of the artworks he produced. Apart from these, additional sources are not well-known or widely available, as many of his works are housed in private collections. The paintings that are commonly available in the public database have provided much relief to the critics and researchers who are trying to study his practice and interpret his visual language.
