The abstract version of St. Basil's Cathedral painted by Aristarkh Lentulov is a remarkable work of Cubism. Aristarkh Lentulov was a leading avant-garde artist who was a part of the group Jack of Diamonds. His style of Cubo-Futurism was developed due to an interest between the way forms and shapes interact with each other in a composition. He was also a set designer and worked for the Moscow Theatre. He had a great number of works and continued painting throughout his life, however, his work was suppressed during the time of Stalin as he was a Russian Revolutionist.
