Painted so intentionally,Purkhu, depicts Radha and Krishna relaxing in each other's arms on a canopied bed about to enjoy the monsoon night together. The maid to the right is retreating after performing a bow to the couple whilst leaving them to themselves. The streaks of golden lightings against the dark black and blue sky is dramatic and fierce invoking the strong connection between radha and krishna and their divine yet mortal love. At a distance below the mighty sky, Gopalas (herdsmen) drive their cattle to the shelter and the white egreets flee against the contours of green hills. Radha is reunited with her Krishna and embraces him with tender affection. The painting is not only beautiful but symbolic. It suggests that love, devotion, and companionship can remain steady even when the world around them is stormy. That balance of visual drama and emotional calm gives the artwork its lasting warmth and depth. What makes the image powerful is its emotional duality: the world outside appears unsettled, yet the central figures seem serene and absorbed in each other. Krishna’s protective, attentive presence and Radha’s gentle closeness create a feeling of trust, tenderness, and devotion.
