The Persian miniature painting created in mid-16th century on a cotton fabric, displays a versatile and extraordinarily detailed work by Dust Muhammad. Although, there are many claims that the painting was done by the talented pupil Shaykh Muhammad and later signed by Dust Muhammad. Nevertheless, the painting carries within itself the rich artistry of painting on a cotton fabric canvas, and was originally part of an album by Dust Muhammad.
The landscape and artistry of the landscape resembles that of an Chinese - inspired landscape with stylised talk trees and rock structures, while the composition of the subjects carry a understandable contrast between the heavy clothed man and the elegant sand-colored Saluki dog. It captures the rather classic and tense confrontations between the two subjects. There is a pull against each other between the subjects with each determined to head in their own individual path.
