Maestà is a fresco painting by Italian artist Simone Martini, created in 1315. It depicts the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child enthroned, sitting under a canopy while being surrounded by prophets, evangelists, and Sienese people. In the painting, Christ gives his blessings, with the surrounding followers all being depicted with halos. Considered one of the greatest Gothic artworks in Europe, it can be found in Palazzo Pubblico in Siena, taking up an entire wall in the most important room. https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/maest/zwF3haL1RjxMeg?hl=en
