Abstraction (Rupture) reflects the radical experimentation of the Russian avant-garde, abandoning representational imagery in favour of dynamic geometric forms and intersecting lines. The composition conveys movement, tension, and fragmentation, embodying a break from traditional artistic conventions in the wake of social and political revolution. Rather than depicting the visible world, Rodchenko explores the structural possibilities of form, colour, and space as independent visual elements. The painting represents a search for a new artistic language suited to a modern industrial society, suggesting that art could actively participate in reshaping culture rather than merely reflecting it.
