In my opinion, A Palace is a magnificent painting, which displays not only the elegance of the imperial court but also the scenic beauty of nature. Although it is traditionally attributed to Zhao Boju, there are no sufficient evidence of that. The masterpiece depicts a magnificent Palace with subtropical gardens, dotted with trees and framed by a stream, making a calm and harmonious picture. I admire the delicate precision and fine brushwork, as well as the use of color and composition, which gives this painting its unique quality and authenticity. However, what attracts me most is the deep meaning and intention of the author. If we look at the picture, the Palace seems to be a symbol of power, prestige, and perfection. At the same time, the natural setting makes the painting not vulgar but refined and modest. This picture invites us to share its peace and harmony, which can be found only in nature. Thus, the painting has a purpose to display the perfect life of the royal family and to teach a lesson that one should strive for harmony with nature rather than domination over it. For this reason, I appreciate the painting A Palace and consider it a masterpiece of Chinese art.
