Portrayed here on this piece of artwork by esteemed artist Ruknuddin is a supposed dark skinned hero greeted by princes in a ragamala garland's ragini collection. The colors are vibrant and popping with a gold margin following the main art piece. The princes face the hero from the right and the hero faces the princes from the center towards his right. Behind the hero stands an attendant with a ceremonial fan raised atop his head. Here we see Ruknuddin's works displayed in intense clarity blending the stylistic Mughal style along with the at the time gaining steam, Rajput esque tones and colors. The Bikaner school of painting is most closely aligned with the traditional mughal paintings compared to the other schools of painting that developed at the time and this artwork illustrates that composition perfectly. Further more adding to this artwork are the margins and borders and backgrounds that set it apart from more traditional artistic bodies of work with an intense brownish color for the paintings surroundings and gold gouache paint to go along with the artwork. In summation, this painting represents some of the most clear cut representations of Ruknuddin’s contributions to the Bikaner school of art and at large, the Mughal and Rajput traditions of paintings merging together.
