Ghulam Ali Khan was a 19th-century master painter based in Delhi who bridged the transition between traditional Mughal court art and British-era patronage. Active primarily between 1817 and 1855, he served as the court artist for the last Mughal emperors, Akbar II and Bahadur Shah Zafar, while simultaneously fulfilling commissions for high-ranking East India Company officials, including William Fraser and Colonel James Skinner. Renowned for his exceptional realism, refined brushwork, and mastery of perspective, Khan became a central figure of the "Company Style" (Company School of Painting) in Northern India.
