Devidasa, also known as Devidasa of Nurpur, was a prominent painter of the Pahadi region, mainly associated with the hill kingdoms of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh (specifically Nurpur and Basohli). He mastered in miniature paintings and was active during the period from 1680 to 1720. Belonging to a celebrated family of court painters, Devidas is particularly known for his vivid and detailed illustrations of the Rasamanjari series. Rasamanjari by Bhanudatta is a famous 15th-century love poem composed in Sanskrit. His family was composed of master painters, including his father Kripal and his own son Golu.
